2011 North Carolina
Ride For Recovery
Thank you for
your interest in North Carolina Voices for Recovery and its
mission. For years addiction, to any form of substance, has
raised to great lengths. The lost of friends and family due
to over dose or lost of freedom has grown into our
communities. Our justice system is over whelmed with inmates
from drug abuse that there is just no more room to keep
them. Without any treatment they are released before they
received treatment, many or placed on probation without any
assistance in Recovery. Our community has turned their heads
away from the problem because there seems to be no hope left
in their minds that Recovery is real and lasting.
SAMSHA,
(Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration,
http://www.samhsa.gov/) has created a Web
Site called
www.recoverymonth.org that promotes September as
Recovery Awareness Month. An annual observance that
highlights the societal benefits of substance abuse
treatment lauds the contributions of treatment providers and
promotes the message that recovery from substance abuse in
all its forms is possible.
North Carolina
Voices for Recovery was founded by the need for information
to the public about recovery. It’s helped many find relief
and information for getting loved ones in recovery and
instilling hope into those they love and the families by
being a place for resource. We are concerned individuals
with experience and testimonies of recovery. We know the
pain and fears that families face when hope lost. We want to
share with you our own experience and lead you into a new
found hope in Christ Jesus. There is no other hope that is
lasting and true then putting recovery in the One who
created it. We are a Christ Center Organization working to
connect other organizational faith base missions that work
towards this new found hope.
We hope that
you will consider supporting us with an annual contribution
or a monthly donation, or a onetime donation as we work to
getting a facility to work from. Our commitment to you and
the community will be that it can call on us to provide
assistance in recovery.
Each year we
provide a Ride for Recovery that will start in Lillington
NC., at the Court House. Registration starts at 9 am. Cost
is $20 per bike and $10 with additional Rider. The ride will
depart at 10:15 am sharp which will lead and end at the
Benson Singing Grove. There, you will enjoy free food and
live entertainment and fun for the whole family. We will
give those who participate in the ride a T-shirt.
